1. What is your favourite part of what you do for a living?
I think the thing I love most about what I do is the way I make people feel. During a treatment, feeling the love and compassion I put into their care and the state of relaxation that they experience. After a treatment, seeing the dramatic difference in their skin and the confidence that gives them.
2. Do you feel like you have found your purpose in life, and how did you get there?
I’m not 100% sure I have found my exact purpose yet, but I do feel that I am on the right path and surrounded by the right people to help guide me to where I am supposed to be.
3. What is your proudest accomplishment?
I think I am most proud of becoming a mom. Raising my twin daughters and keeping us all healthy, happy and (mostly) sane over these past few years.
4. Where is your favourite place in the world?
Hawaii, specifically Kauai. However, there is so much of this world I have left to see.
5. What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Trust your gut.
6. What lights you up?
Ok, I’m not just trying to pump Naturmend’s tires (is that the right phrase?) but the people I work with truly light me up. I am so grateful to be surrounded by like-minded people who so openly share their thoughts and beliefs, and who hear my thoughts and beliefs, without judgement. I feel inspired every time I come to work, and that is a really great feeling.
7. What is your favourite quote?
Hold the vision, trust the process.
8. What is your favourite book of all time and why?
Ok, confession time… I buy books and don’t read them. I used to read a lot of fiction books when I was younger but can’t say that I have a favourite. I am however trying to prioritize time for reading and actually have 2 books on the go. Ask and it is Given, given to me by Dr. Meaghan, and Skinside Out, a book about corneotherapy, a skin care concept I am very intrigued to learn more about.
9. What is one thing that you do every single day that people might be surprised by?
Wash my face every single night! No matter how tired or no matter how many glasses of wine I have had ;), I never go to bed without washing my face. But that might not be surprising at all.
10. What is your #1 non-negotiable when it comes to your self-care?
Facials! I know that might seem silly but there are some things or areas of my face that I just can’t get to myself. Also, giving myself a facial isn’t as relaxing. I love when someone else touches my face.
11. If you could speak with one person, dead or alive, who would it be?
I lost my dad in May of this year and I miss him dearly. My dad and I didn’t have a lot of common interests so most of our conversations were very one-sided. I wish I would have shown more interest in the things he loved, his work, his music and his car. I would give anything to talk to him about his car today.
12. What do you do when you’re feeling unmotivated?
I try to focus on the “why” behind what I am doing (or not doing). But I also try to give myself grace and focus on what my body or mind needs in that moment of feeling unmotivated to complete a task.
13. What is one book, podcast, or other resource in the health & wellness space that you would recommend?
My colleagues are my best and most utilized health and wellness resource.
