The Power of Collaboration

A few years ago I recall a conversation at Naturmend with myself, a Naturopathic Doctor and a Holistic Nutritionist. We are all a bit stressed, and all dealing with it in the ways we knew best. As a psychologist I was focused on reframing my thoughts and plenty of self-care. The ND was supporting her body through supplements and getting together with friends, and our nutritionist was carefully watching her diet, and the nutrients she was providing her body.

We all did exactly what we know how to do best, and I suspect we were all absolutely right. And yet, completely wrong. We were all making the best decisions in taking care of ourselves to the best ways we knew how. If we had all collaborated we probably would have had the best plan for all of us, supporting us through mind, body, and nutrition. To me, this is the coolest thing about collaborative care — all parts of us get cared for.

When you come to Naturmend, it’s up to you just how much we collaborate – we want your permission for us to chat about you. If we do collaborate we can find the plan which fits for you, supporting you holistically. We can all support you in different ways, which gives you an encompassing approach to health and wellness. This means you have access to a team of people with varying skills who can assist you in different ways.

It’s important you know we are here, as a team, ready to help you reach your goals. We are standing by ready to approach YOU with different sets of eyes, each with a fresh and unique perspective. Think about it —  how can you use collaboration to your advantage today?

Some of the team here at Naturmend – Dr. Sarah Kent (ND), Karyn Zudihof (Psychologist) and Ralitza Alexandrov (C.H.N.C).

Karyn Zuidhof, Calgary Psychologist

As a Registered Psychologist, I have experience helping people with a variety of concerns including, but not limited to stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, parenting, and relationships. Together, we will use cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and collaborate to find the thoughts and actions creating obstacles in your life, test them out, and combat them to decide if they’re helping or hindering you. Most of all, I want to help you reach your potential, and make the way there a little easier.
