Banff to Jasper Energy Orbs

A tasty treat that helped fuel some runners and support people pre-race, while racing and post race! Note – eating while exercising is a personal experience meaning only you and your Gut will know what works. Always practice before a race to see if you need calories or energy and in what form they should come!



  • DSC_387228 figs – soaked in warm water for 5 min (then discard water)


  • ¼ cup of coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp of coconut butter
  • 2 tbps of cocoa butter
  • 4 oz of bittersweet chocolate


  • ½ cup of cocoa powder
  • ½ cup of Hemp Hearts
  • ¼ cup chia seeds
  • ¼ cup almonds
  • ½ cup walnuts
  • ½ cup of pecans
  • ½ cup coconut, dried
  • 1 tsp mesquite pod powder
  • 1 tsp of lucuma powder
  • 1 tsp raw shilajit
  • ½ tsp vanilla powder
  • ¼ cup liquid honey
  • 2 tbsp of maple syrup
  • ½ tsp of almond extract
  • ¼ cup of water


  • In a double boiler liquefy the bittersweet chocolate, coconut oil, cacao butter and coconut butter.
  • Combine all ingredients into a high-powered food processor and / or blender. Blend until thoroughly combined.
  • Roll into ½ inch energy balls.
  • Keep refrigerated until firm.
  • Can keep in freezer.
